Product Overview

3M™ Safety-Walk™ 610 Series is a general-purpose anti-slip tape designed with a mineral-coated surface for high durability. It offers effective slip resistance in a wide range of dry applications where safety and traction are critical.

Key Features

  • Durable mineral-coated surface for long-lasting traction

  • Pressure-sensitive adhesive backing for strong bonding

  • Low-profile to reduce trip hazards

  • Chemical and wear resistant

  • Suitable for industrial, commercial, and residential environments

Ideal Applications

  • Stairways and steps

  • Ramps and inclined walkways

  • Entrances and exits

  • Machinery footplates

  • Agricultural and construction equipment

Installation Temperature

  • Recommended surface and ambient temperature: 4°C to 38°C (40°F to 100°F)

Application Steps

  1. Surface Preparation

    • Ensure the surface is clean, dry, smooth, and free of oil or contaminants

    • Use a degreaser or isopropyl alcohol for cleaning

    • For rough or porous surfaces, apply a primer (e.g., 3M™ Primer 94) to improve adhesion

  2. Cutting the Tape

    • Cut the tape to the required length

    • Round the corners to minimize edge lifting

  3. Applying the Tape

    • Peel back part of the release liner and position the tape

    • Gradually remove the liner while pressing the tape firmly onto the surface

    • Apply firm, even pressure across the tape as you go

  4. Use a Roller for Bonding

    • Use a rubber hand roller to press the tape down

    • Start from the center and roll outward to ensure full contact and remove air bubbles

  5. Edge Sealing (Optional but Recommended)

    • For extra durability and water resistance, apply 3M™ Edge Sealer along the tape edges

Curing Time

  • Full bond strength develops in 24–48 hours

  • Avoid heavy traffic during this time

Maintenance

  • Clean with mild detergents and water

  • Avoid harsh chemicals that may degrade the adhesive

  • Inspect regularly for wear or lifting and replace as needed
